Log what you measure, take and feel. If, when logging difficulty speaking, you mark one side of the face drooping or arm or leg weakness, the app treats it as urgent. Each food is weighed against your condition.
If you log difficulty speaking, Cognia asks how it shows (slurred words, not finding words or not understanding what is heard), whether it began suddenly, whether one side of the face is drooping and whether there is arm or leg weakness. A drooping face or weakness gives an urgent alert, and so does a sudden start with any of those three forms, with the NHS stroke and TIA pages behind it.
Blurred vision that appears suddenly is also flagged as urgent, because of the possibility of a TIA or stroke. It is guidance only: if it is happening now, call emergency services.
Log systolic, diastolic and pulse. The app warns when a reading is elevated or stage 1 or 2, and shows an urgent alert at crisis values. If symptoms would change the severity, it asks first.
Log total cholesterol, LDL, HDL and triglycerides, and glucose too, with their ranges and the source for each.
Enter each medication with its schedule (every few hours, at a fixed time, certain days or only when needed) and the app alerts you. Log each dose, handy if someone helps you with them.
The traffic light weighs a food from your condition, with the reason and, where there is one, the source. Preparation counts: the catalogue tells apart the preparations of the same food. It informs; it never forbids.
Choose an emergency contact. If something reaches urgent level, they are alerted right away; if they chose it, urgent check-up alerts too. Cognia does not call emergency services: it shows your country’s number and the button opens the dialler.
