When you ate, what you drank, what you did and how you felt is usually noted somewhere else, or nowhere. Cognia puts it next to your bad nights so you can see what lines up. It is a log, not a treatment.
When you log “Difficulty sleeping” you say whether you were slow to fall asleep, woke at night or woke too early. You also mark whether the next day brought tiredness, irritability or trouble concentrating.
Among the causes you can mark is “Too much caffeine or caffeine withdrawal”. And if you log the coffee you drink, it goes into the matches with your bad nights.
When a meal, supplement, medication or workout comes before a symptom, Cognia saves the match and moves it up a level if it repeats. For medication, supplements and exercise it looks at the previous 24 hours. They are leads, not proven causes.
When you log insomnia you can say what you think played a part: poor sleep, a night shift or jet lag, a late dinner, a long nap or irregular schedule, stress, grief or pain elsewhere in the body.
The traffic light rates foods from your insomnia and the other conditions on your profile, with the reason and, where there is one, its source. The catalogue tells apart the preparations of the same food. It informs, it does not forbid.
If you turn it on when you log the symptom, Cognia asks again every few hours whether it has passed, is the same or is worse. It stops asking after 24 hours.
If you take a medication or supplement you can set up its schedule with a notification on your phone; this is on the free plan. With Premium, you also get scheduled meal, water or measurement reminders.
With Premium, export a PDF of your symptoms, meals, supplements and medication for the period you choose, so your professional can see how your nights have been.
