Log your glucose and the symptoms of a low, and get an alert that goes up the lower or more severe it is. Each food is weighed against your condition.
Log your glucose in mg/dL. Below 70 a TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR alert appears with the source’s advice (fast sugar and recheck in 15 minutes); below 54 it is MEDICAL EMERGENCY. You measure and enter the value.
With a low glucose, Cognia asks about confusion, being unable to eat or drink without help, seizure or loss of consciousness. If any is present, the alert goes up to MEDICAL EMERGENCY.
You can log the symptoms of a low without having a reading at hand. If the person is not responding normally, the app asks whether glucagon is available, whether they did not recover 10 minutes after it, or whether they drank alcohol; each of those combinations is MEDICAL EMERGENCY, per the NHS.
When you log a symptom you can ask the app to check in every few hours: “it passed”, “same” or “worse”. When it ends, the duration is saved.
If you log meals, medications, supplements or exercise and then a symptom, Cognia saves the coincidence even if it happens once, and raises its level if it repeats. It is a clue to discuss with your doctor, not a proven cause.
The traffic light weighs a food from your hypoglycemia, with the reason and, where there is one, the source. Preparation counts: the catalogue tells apart the preparations of the same food. It informs; it never forbids.
With Premium, schedule reminders to check your glucose at a fixed time or every set number of hours.
Choose an emergency contact. A glucose below 54 reaches MEDICAL EMERGENCY and they are alerted right away, without you having to write; if they chose it, URGENT CHECK-UP alerts too. Cognia does not call emergency services: it shows your country’s number and the button opens the dialler.
