Note each seizure, what you took and what came before it. If you have epilepsy, Cognia does not treat every seizure as an automatic emergency: it asks the questions the NHS uses to decide when to call emergency services.
With epilepsy on the profile, a seizure does not trigger the alert on its own. Cognia asks whether it was the first, whether it lasted longer than usual or over 5 minutes, whether you did not recover, whether there were 3 or more in 24 hours, a serious injury or difficulty breathing. Each answer has its level, with the NHS page behind it.
If a seizure comes after a long time without any, Cognia flags it as an urgent check-up alert: get a doctor's appointment soon, based on the NHS epilepsy page.
When you log a seizure you note how it was (stiffness and jerking, staring, going limp, brief jerks, odd movements), whether you felt something before, whether you lost consciousness and whether you lost bladder control. Someone who saw it can help you fill it in.
If you turn it on when you log the symptom, Cognia asks again every few hours whether it has passed, is the same or is worse, and stores how long it lasted. It stops asking after 24 hours.
Create each medication's schedule (every few hours, at fixed times, certain days or as needed) and the app notifies on the phone; each dose is recorded. Cognia does not adjust doses.
When a meal, supplement, medication or workout comes before a symptom, Cognia saves the match and moves it up a level if it repeats. For medication, supplements and exercise it looks at the previous 24 hours. They are leads for your neurologist, not proven causes.
Choose an emergency contact, who has to accept the invitation. An urgent alert always reaches them; the urgent check-up alert, if they chose to receive it. In an emergency, a button opens the dialer with your country's emergency number: Cognia does not call for you.
The traffic light rates foods from your epilepsy and the profile's other conditions, with the reason and, where there is one, its source. The catalogue tells apart the preparations of the same food. It informs, it does not forbid.
