Log wheezing and breathlessness, measure your peak flow against your personal best and see what the evidence says about each food. Cognia alerts you by level, without replacing your action plan.
If you have asthma and log breathlessness or wheezing, Cognia asks whether you are no better after the maximum reliever inhaler dose, whether you do not have it with you, whether symptoms are getting worse or whether you need it more often. Each answer has its own level of alert, with the NHS page behind it.
With asthma, breathlessness that wakes you at night triggers an alert to mention it to your doctor, based on the NHS asthma page.
Log your peak flow and Cognia compares it with your personal best to tell you which zone you are in: green, yellow or red. Without that best it does not make up a zone: it asks for it, because the same number is normal for one person and serious for another. Danger signs are asked about regardless.
The traffic light weighs foods from your asthma, with the reason and, where there is one, its source. The catalogue tells apart the preparations of one food, and a food is neither good nor bad in general: it is weighed against your condition.
Log meals, drinks, medicines and exercise too. If something shows up before a symptom, Cognia saves the match and, if it repeats, moves it up a level and shows how many times. For medicines, supplements and exercise it looks at the 24 hours before.
Turn on follow-up when you log a symptom and Cognia asks again every few hours: gone, same or worse. When it is over, it stores how long it lasted.
Note your medicine schedule and the app reminds you at each dose time, with a record of every dose.
Choose an emergency contact. If the alert is urgent, they always get it; if they chose so, the urgent check-up alerts too. Cognia does not call emergency services: it shows your country's number and a button that opens the dialler.
